I wouldn't advise it. Better to send in some small articles (non-fiction, even if that isn't your chosen market) to small, local newspapers to give you some writing credits and clippings. Be sure to save these in a scrapbook, date them, and write the name of the newspaper they were published in. You can also submit things to online publications and get credits that way. Best wishes
