I stared down the face of 110 blank pages and was not intimidated. Flying off the runner’s block like a prized stallion race horse, I was stalwart. It was not long before I was struck down, without warning, when the wicked pig flu tore through my house like a tornado twister. I did not succumb. The beast was slaughtered, and I came back with a vengeance, holding my quill high, and once again I blotted my pages with its inky glory. Steadfast, I wrote through late nights, in between daily 4 yr-old kid distractions, hosting a birthday party sleepover with six rowdy 9 yr-old boys and a full-fledged feast for seven on Thanksgiving Day. Scar-faced, black-eyed, & punch-drunk, I still stand. Tall and proud, I shout these words: I WON NaNoWriMo 2009!!!
51,003- final word count.
Thank you SO much for the fantastic prep challenge, which gave me a sense of organization and direction for reaching my 50k!
Congratulations to all of the NaNoWriMo 2009 WINNERS!!!!
