Well now, I suppose I'll need to lead the dance a bit... Y'see, I've just spent the last few years boning up on social economics (which explain a lot about how and why the world's in the shape it's in lately) and it sure knocked all the romantic poetry clean outa me! (which is just fine.) Now that the schmaltz is purged, well, it leaves a little more room on the slate for other morsels. I always imagined that people would have a lot to say about these issues. I never imagined that these issues should be left to the, um, "experts" only... they're too important for that. - which is why I thought it might be downright entertaining to gather in some points of view that haven't necessarily been processed through the party lines, or waltzed too many times down the hallowed halls of academia. Scientific proofs are for moonshots and miraculous cures, I suppose. Otherwise there's heartfelt gut responses - especially to all the nonsenses. So please, feel free. There's a million stories behind every economic statistic. I don't believe the numbers tell the stories, at all. The people tell the stories. (numbers just sorta lie there on the page, looking rather like myopic newts, really.) .....or like Alan Greenspan, take your pick. (was that a Gingrich flying by?) Good luck to all.
