Noticing Newbies

I am going after hearsay on this one. However, sometimes putting any of your work online is considered publishing. I believe that it all depends on the journal itself on whether or not they follow that general rule. Some might allow it even if it's been online somewhere first.

So, if you ever want an article you're writing to be published, and you're not sure about that rule, I'd recommend not placing it online anywhere.

Just my 2 cents. Maybe someone here will know this better than I. As I have no plans to publish anything I've written here formally with anyone, I haven't looked into it very deeply.
