Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed the essay. I woke up early this morning because it is my son's 18th birthday, and that has me all jittery. He is heading off to college in a few weeks, and it is so hard to believe. (Granted, I have a 22 year old daughter, but she was ready to fly the coop at 4 or 5, so by the time she did at 18, it was hardly surprising. That leave one 13 year old at home. The nest is starting to feel a bit empty)

Anyway, I have no idea how this came to me. It was simply the first thought that leaped into my head, so I wrote it down. I wish I could say I struggled and suffered for my art, but in this case, it was just one of those early morning sleepy inspirations. I was a bit afraid I would read it later and be appalled, but somehow it seems to have held together even after I woke up.
