A sanctuary for weary writers, inky wretches, and aspiring professional novelists. |
I read through the website. As far as such sites go, it's unremarkable. I was, however, a bit put off by one line, and I quote: "With these 10 free tutorials your success as a published children's writer is virtually assured." Of course, the "10 free tutorials" are only available once you've paid for the first 10. I consider any course that states success is "virtually assured" highly dubious. However, the key word is "success." There are thousands of writers with advanced degrees from major universities who've yet to sell a book to a publisher. No "10, 20, 0r 1,000 turotial course can guarantee success. Even "virtually assure" is a heck of a stretch. If the writer only desires to see his/her name on the cover of a book, then I suppose success can certainly be assured. I can assure you of the same thing by pointing you toward any vanity or subsidy publisher. No agent I know, or know of, would be interested in a diploma from such an enterprise. Now having said all this, if you've researched the company and feel they have something useful to offer you in the way of craft development, that's another matter all together. But never, ever fall for any business line that promises or assures literary success for a fee. For more "stuff" visit: http://LiamJackson.com "Have you ever been caught hiding bodies in your closet?
