The best advice I was given was to sleep when the baby sleeps. The first few weeks are especially challenging and sleep deprivation will be rampant. If you get too concerned with a tidy house (or shower for that matter) you will be feeling like a zombie in no time. Take sleeping shifts with each other if you can, or hire a doula to help out (mom's are also great for a few hours of z catching or cooking meals).
