With book items, just click on the Manage link, and you'll be able to see both the total amount of space in the book item and how much spaced has been used so far. That area is also where you can put the entries in a particular order. (I do know that for journals the total amount of space is 2048 KB.) As for folders, as far as I can tell, the size is determined by how many items you out in it with no known limit to the number of items that can go into a folder.
