A place to discuss the campfire and all that jazz |
Hallo! So I just realized I was supposed to post a rough character sketch here...pretty observant I am. Later I'll give more details on her brother (still have a little research to do) and give her a name and a more definite appearance, as well as flesh out a few more things that may be a little weak. A young woman (name still to be determined)-fully human, but her clan at one point in the past, bred with reindeer people of Lapland and thus her current family has a herd of reindeer from which they get their food and "income". Her clan, once large and powerful long ago, disintegrated over time to only her small family she has now. Her family consists of herself, her twin brother, and her blind father. Unnamed character's dream is to be a shield maiden, and she's jealous and envious of those who are. Unfortunately for her, due to her family's situation she is a herder...the herder for the family. Her brother is some sort of warrior and thus has other responsibilities. She goes out with the herd when it grazes, days sometimes weeks at a time, to guard and protect it from wolves, lynx, other people, and other predators. As a result, she's more of a warrior than she realizes (and appreciates) because it takes skill to grapple with a wolf. She is an excellent marksman as it is needed for protecting the whole herd, and is proficient in a spear for closer range attacks. In any other weapon, she's pretty much useless. She raises gyr falcons to help her hunt so she doesn't have to leave her post. Appearance wise, she has long blond hair that has a slight curl, in which she'll sometimes braid a feather or two from her gyrs. She has green eyes...and more to come. She's strong willed, determined and has a fierce side to her that doesn't always lead to wisdom. On first meeting, she's rather cold to those she doesn't know, especially since she's suspicious of anyone who approaches the herds, but she's deeply devoted to her family and loves her twin more than life. |
