Knowing what you believe and why is at least as important as the believing itself. |
My view of a "perfect society" is one where everyone has equal access to all basic human rights, where discrimination is unheard of, and where all men see each other as brothers and stand together as one instead of fighting. Unfortunately, our current society is far from being perfect. There are all these ranks in society, and the higher-ranked tend to look down upon those near the bottom. I think the issue of immigration resembles this in that we are the ones who are "up there", and the poorer, less well-off immigrants are just the opposite. And, just because their ranks in society are lower, they are scorned and spat upon. What is this? Can't we just open our eyes and see that we are all human? We all have the same dreams, aspirations, and hopes. Why should any of their dreams be less than ours? Indeed, why should they be any less than us? In my opinion, the USA already has enough problems on its hands, what with the war in Iraq and all. We simply shouldn't bother with driving the immigrants out when we already have much greater problems. If they want to stay in America, let them stay. After all, only they know what's best for them and their future generations. ~Brittany Morgan "Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day.
