Controversial Topic Discussion

*sigh* I have to say, those of you in favor of same-sex marriages, have some good arguements. Still, I have to politely disagree. I am a Christian and I am mostly conservative in my views. Although I try not to judge people for the choices they make, when asked my opinion/beliefs, I will stand by what the Bible says.

God created marriage (way back before Christianity existed) between a man and a woman. Woman was created as man's mirror, his opposite, ying and yang if that's what you want to call it. She fit perfectly to him. Thus we have the first marriage. No, it was not in a church (where does it say it has to be, I always wondered that). But it was before God.

Throughout the OT many people were married that were not virgins. And with our Lord and Savior dying on a cross for our sins, stuff like that became forgiveable and marriage once again a possibility. God told us to procreate and fill the earth, how are two men or two women supposed to do that (excluding modern day technology)? They're not able to b/c it wasn't meant to be that way.

I think half of the worlds problem today is the assumption that the guidelines we lived by in the past need to change with the world. Why? We should still be held to the same Biblical moral standards no matter what generation we are in. (I know that statement may come back to bite me in the rear and I am already trying to figure out my defense to it). I say Biblical moral standards b/c those are the ones I try to live by. I realize that non-Christians may have disagreements with it.
