Writer's Fallout Shelter

Hi peoples! It's been a month since this thread has seen activity! In any case, I have a request of any/all of you. IF you're up to the challenge. ;)

My university has a literary magazine that is looking for submissions. We run art, fiction, non-fiction, poetry, music, etc. I happen to be a reader for the non-fiction aspect of it. I, and a few others, read through submissions and give it a yay, nay, or maybe. The thing is, however, we're running low on fiction. All we ask is that it's not a genre piece (fantasy, sci-fi, horror, etc. Magical realism and supernatural is okay if you're able to bend it more toward the contemporary fiction realm).

We need submissions! The poetry contest gives a $500 reward for first place if that's a good incentive for you. However, the deadline for that is November 19th, 2007. Apparently people are suprised that the magazine is run by undergraduates when we go to conventions. This isn't just some college thing, it's an international contest and great for credentials.

The deadline for normal submissions is around mid-December in order to get the magazine published and distributed in the spring.

I figured I'd post this here since I have no idea where else this would go. It's not as if I can make a thread about it... people might start posting there for free instead of entering legally. Anyway! Hope you all are up to the challenge! We could use your help!
