What I do is keep my Summary Stats window opened all the time and that is the page that I refresh when I need to check on my favorites in the right column and my inbox in the left one.

This way, I can see what gets seen in my items but I really started this in order to prevent refreshing an item not mine, which would count as a view for that member.

But you could also just refresh your main portfolio page or even one of the support forums, but they may take a few seconds more to load because of all the little cases and/or icons.
