Re: Looking for a good new vampire story
If you find a good NEW vampire story then let me know I'll be very interested - they seem to be jumping on the Anne Rise romantic series or Vampire Slayer band wagons (Snoozeville, man - give me some fresh meat). But here's a list of the ones I've read and enjoyed.

Nancy A Collins - Sunglasses After Dark (before Buffy and the Slayers arrived) this started her own series starring Sonja Blue - I read it in one day, Then read it again, Then lent it to a friend who also read it twice. Well worth a look. As was the first follow-up In The Blood.

Robert McCammon - They Thirst - not as good as some of his other works (This is an author I highly recommend) but in his top five works.

Stephen King - Salems Lot + the short story Jerusalems Lot (what need I saw).

S P Somtow - Vampire Junction and the follow up Valentine (another bloody good author - now doing fantasy). Vampire Junction is in my favourite books.

Whitley Strieber - The Hunger (pre. abduction) - I have to say I loved his writing style before his run in with the aliens, afterwards there was a change (like with King and his accident) so I have, as yet to read the follow-ons. Though, I did enjoy this pre-Anne Rice romantic Vampire tale.

That should give you a few things to get your teeth into. Let me know what you think of them - if you give 'em a read.

Come join me - We ALL float down here.
Pennywise.
