A sanctuary for weary writers, inky wretches, and aspiring professional novelists. |
This is the 11th agent. The other agents have all sent form letter type rejections, thus not real feedback. Publishers, I got a form letter from Tor and the book is currently with Baen. I should be hearing back from Baen in the next month or so hopefully. I guess their year is up in Oct. Sigh. I think there might be some merit in what he says but I'm not sure how to deal with the issue(s). I have struggled some with pace regarding this book because it's a book I and thus some of the "main storyline" is slow. But my hero character doesn't have unknown parentage or other suspicious elements to make him stand out for a plot. He's just a boy trying to reach for his dream. I've contemplated starting the book later in his adventures, but fear that such would confuse my readers too much. I've added in some action and subplot in the beginning, but they don't directly expose the main plotline. Most people who have actually read it and given feedback claim to like it, but I'm a character writer so I don't do as much action-driven plotlines as some people would like. -Renegade Do you have a dream? ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only ** This character does, but what is the price of a dream? ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only ** ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only ** ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only ** ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only **
