The problem with names (whether in fanfics or original stories) when it comes to online submissions is that we use pennames. At least I do. Amarisa is not my real name. Even if I put a random name into the story instead of saying, "child," the reader may still think it's me.
I, too, used to write a Mary Sue and even went so far as to try to make her not Mary Sue-ish. To this day I loved the storyline and wished I could've used it without an added character, but that simply wouldn't have worked... Such a shame. But I learned my lesson the harsh way and can pick out a self-insert even when it comes to classical literature. Anyone read Pride and Prejudice? Yeah, Jane Bennet is definitely Jane Austin's self insert, and I found that out officially after I caught it. It's amazing how some elements of writing were so popular years ago but wouldn't stand in today's society.
Anyway, Thank you for taking the time to review me twice. That definitely went above and beyond what I was expecting.
