They're practising "CYA" -- Cover Your Ass. By not permitting even a breath of minority sex in a book, they're ensuring that no one can hold them accountable for publishing an erotic novel with pedophilic undertones.

If you haven't already, I'd suggest shopping your novel around to more mainstream publishers who don't mind a bit of erotica in a novel, as opposed to erotica publishers who ban minority sex from their books.
