Don't feel alone. It happens to the best of us. The most common advice you would get from Creative writing courses is that you should keep on writing. Get the words onto paper. Don't worry too much about mistakes etc., but get the story written. As they say; the easy part is to write the story, but then the hard work starts. The professionals also suggest that once you have finished your novel put it away for at least three months before looking at it again. It is amazing how much this advice helps! Join a writers group to get their feedback and encouragement. Another method is to first do a story outline with the time line etc. before starting your novel. There are some very good books on creative writing.
