I definitely share your opinion on the importance of characters, and I think my characters are the strong point of the novel I'm writing- at least, I want them to be strong, and I hope I've pulled it off. I think that an interesting plot played out by bad characters is far worse than a somewhat bland plot played out by fascinating characters, and I hope that reflects in my writing.

I would really appreciate your opinions on my prologue (and the next four chapters, IF you're compelled to keep reading.) What do you think of Iris?
