I've noticed a trend among the Fallout Shelter peeps to make statements like, "I'm the writer. I can do anything I want with my story."
I've wanted to start a discussion about these type of statements for some time, but I haven't known how to approach it. While I don't disagree with this statement, I do feel that it's accuracy depends on how the writer incorporates it into their approach to storytelling.
This evening, I came across a quote by Garcia Marquez, author of One Hundred Years of Solitude. He states, "Everything is permitted to the writer, as long as he is capable of making it believable."
This is a spin on the "I'm going to do it any way I want to" that I can agree to.
