I have a large group of family and friends who regularly critique my writing. Although sometimes individuals won't get what I'm doing or miss a theme here and there, I usually get honest and helpful reviews. In other words, real people, who won't necessarily be looking for subtle nuances and repeating themes - and this is why I think that friends and family make the best readers.
