Re: Crits & Family and Friends

I have a large group of family and friends who regularly critique my writing. Although sometimes individuals won't get what I'm doing or miss a theme here and there, I usually get honest and helpful reviews. I know that when my work eventually gets published it will be read by someone riding the bus home after a hard day, a bum on the street waiting for change in his hat and trying to keep warm or a kid holed up in their room looking for escape. In other words, real people, who won't necessarily be looking for subtle nuances and repeating themes - and this is why I think that friends and family make the best readers.
For the more technical side of things, I rely on my writers group. They deal with the subtleties of writing.
