I'm apologize for responding so late, but I've just finished moving and havent really had the time to get on. I like your idea to have multiple flashbacks, though I'm concerned that I'll end up writing something that jumps back and forth in time so much that it'll get too confusing. I mean, most of what I want to say in the "past" isnt made up of little blurbs, it's sort of the road that was taken to get to where they are at the beginning of the second section. I'm afriad of mixing two different journies. I'm also considering, though, that perhaps I'm just not well versed in flashbacks. I havent really read very many books that have more than one or two little flashbacks in them. Does any one by chance have any good advice or examples of this? I could really use the help. I also agree that making "note cards" of sorts with your scenes on them and then shuffling them around until you get them in the right order is a wonderful idea. I've been doing that since I started writing silly little stories about my friends while we were in middle school. It works really well. |
