Personally, since I'm not married anymore, I found sleeping with a notebook beside you to cuddle up with works against writer's block.
I have about five little 50 page journals filled so far, and that's just in the last three months.
As soon as I wake up I grab my pen and scribble down the important things I can remember. Figure I can flesh it out and fill in the gaps later, the important part of it is to get what you remember down before it escapes you.
