First of all welcome!!

Second of all, fear is necessary to an extent, it's what makes you judge your own work, and work to continue to improve. I have the same issues. I started out submitting short stuff here and taking the feedback given to help me find my direction and build my confidence. Just keep plugging away.

Also I suggest that you look at it as writing first for yourself to please yourself, then the more you enjoy it, the more you yourself get out of it, the easier it will be to share it with others.
