Suggestion Box

I've been thinking about this for a while. I don't like the star rating system much. But I love getting reviews. And I like it when my reviewers can publicly post their review to get giftpoints or to be recognized for their work. So, I was thinking if it would be possible for WDC to introduce a new feature for items.

This feature could be something like, "Review Only", to be added to the "allow ratings" and "do not allow ratings" options.

The item could have greyed out stars instead of purple stars, and people who read this item would be able to review it and publicly post it on the public review forums. The only difference from an "allow ratings" item is that they won't be able to assign a star rating to it. The review would count as a rate+review on the reviewer's overall score, even if the rating wasn't avaliable.

I realize this idea might have some opposition. I don't know what the programming side of such an idea would be either. And I know there's always the possibility of ignoring the stars if you don't like them. But for those of us who want to encourage only reviews, I think it might be nice.
