I don't know if that's such a good idea. I mean, about the rubberband. My nurse/therapist and the SAFE program says not to do things that reinforce hurting yourself. I know that by flicking a rubberband you DO reinforce your livelyhood.- but you also are saying that it's okay to hurt yourself - even if it's just a little sting like that. I mean, I do things like that, still, but I just think that things like ice on your arm or where-ever you cut or flicking a rubberband or punching a pillow.or anything like that just reinforce using violence to feel better. There are other ways. Focus on alternatives or finding things that make you feel alive. Me, I do Karate. When I'm practicing or in class, I feel so great. I am focusing on nothing but that, thinking about nothing but that. I feel so alive and focused. Maybe you should try something like that.
