Another possible option is to click the envelope next to the author's portfolio icon and simply e-mail your comments. In the subject, you can type something along the lines of "Review of (insert title here)". It's a little more time consuming, but if you absolutely do not want to rate a piece, you can skip the review box and go directly for e-mailing the author. Given the popularity of similar suggestions, the option to review without assigning a rating may happen later on, but until then e-mailing your comments may work for you if you feel personally uncomfortable assigning a rating to a piece.
