Those in favor of simplified spelling say children would learn faster and illiteracy rates would drop. Opponents say a new system would make spelling even more confusing.

I oppose. One I would hate to learn how to write badly on purpose and two I would hate for my children and grandchildren to grow up not being able to understand any of the classics.
