The other day I saw a Non Sequiter comic in the Sunday paper. The artist labled the comic, "The Creative Process." It depicted a comic artist sitting down in front of a blank paper, and staring at it for six or eight panels. Then, finally, on the last panel, the artist says something to the effect of, "well, nothing today, I'll have to try again tommorrow."
The point is that inspiration won't always come. Writer's block has hit the best of us, and all you can really do is ride it out. I find that the randomest things inspire me, and it just kind of hits when I least expect it.
Oh, yeah, and eat ice cream. Lots and lots of ice cream. That's the secret.
