My feeling is poetry is a distillation of language, getting rid of the dross, essentially paring the language down to basic elements necessary to meaning. If prose poetry does that too, then I have to agree it follows the guidelines, but I wouldn't recommend using it in this Slam given one of the judges hates it, lol...
