I like this form because it seems like a lot of free verse is prose that is written and then just separated into lines. In my opinion, if that's all your line breaks mean, you might as well just do away with lineation. I think a lot of people still think prose poetry is fake. I have this book of American prose poems that features pieces from 100 years ago or more, before the phrase "prose poem" was even used it seems, so I think the opinion of whether a piece is prose or poetry or both depends largely on the reader or the editor. Go figure!
