The problem I have in reading some attempts at free verse is the poet uses too many words. The words aren't the vehicle that propels the poem forward, it's the emotion in the piece. I really dislike this faux poetry called prose poetry. What the hell is that? You either write a prose piece or you write poetry but don't turn your inability to master either form and call it by another name.
If you're feeling a little bit like all the ink is running out of every single pen you own, it might be time to go pen shopping. Buy a whole bunch of your favorite kind of pen. There! You've solved the problem. If you still can't seem to get anything written down, maybe it's not the pen that's the problem.
