Spring 2006 SLAM! - Congrats to the winners - see you all next time! |
"Invalid Item" Bloody bodies flashed across the screen... Somalia was in my living room, screams of unbridled human rage echoed into my unbelieving ears. But, no tears fell from my eyes that day. It was a surreal scene. American flags burned bright - with hatred. With disgust. Without remorse they dragged young, dead soldiers in the street. Still, no hatred consumed my heart that day. I was young, naive. Unaccepting. Somalia was another place, far away. I was unrelenting in my quest to dance and have a good time...to live free, without worries or fear. And, nobody could get me down that day. September 11th, 2001: my world came crashing down that day. I remembered Mogadishu that day. Beirut. Hijackings. Hostages. Bombings. Yemen. Iran. Iraq. Russian nuclear missles. Terror. Flight 800? Tears fell from my eyes that day. Hatred consumed my heart that day. Nothing could cheer me up that day. I resolved I'd never forget that day. I vowed I'd NEVER relive that day. Never. |
