"Invalid Item" 

The startling news arrived early today,
Our reigning King, George III,
He must have more lives than a cat.
I ask myself quietly, is that good?
Do we need him as King much longer?

It was at Drury Lane Theatre last night,
While they played the national anthem.
I believe the attacker needed a better aim,
The pistol he fired missed by a mile.
I’d have done a better job.

These thoughts I cannot safely disclose.
That miserable failure will have everyone
On high alert, watching for more attempts.
The best I can do is watch and hope
For the king to be removed legally.

There are already whispers of rumours
That he wants to be convicted,
High treason carries death.
It’ll remain to be seen in coming days
If he, like most prefer, gets his wish.
