I read Kindred for school a couple years ago, and I mostly liked it because of its creativity in addressing an overused topic in writing, racism. I expected it to be a rehashed racism novel (not meant to be insulting, but it seems like that to me sometimes), but I found it pretty refreshing for the subject.
