Write poetry from prompts just for the fun of it; formal or free verse, you pick.

Promt #18 - Write a poem on love or the lack of it. If you'd like to, write from a positive or a negative angle.

Love or Fate?

Receptionist at a manufacturing firm
Young man arrives and asks if there is any work
The receptionist hands him a job application form
Ever so often she would glance over to the young man
Thinking to herself, he must have alot to write

Between calls and typing she looks up to see
The young man at her desk, he hands her the form
Stating, I can't read or write too good
The receptionist responds
Maybe I could help you
I am not too busy this morning.
My boss isn't in till noon

She seems mildly shocked reading the blank form
All he had written in 2 hours
Was his name and address
Which was barely readable
He begins to speak stating his experience

The receptionist starts typing
All that he was stating
When she finished s
She handed him a typed application.

He took the typed form and a blank one
Thanks so much for your help, I'll be back!

That afternoon, he returned
With a hand written application form
Asked to see the boss in charge
Beaming smile across his face
The young man was hired that day
Proved to be a very hard worker.

They ate lunch each day together
Became dear friends
Eventually they married had a family
Turns out the young man had Dyslexia.
He eventually, did get help for his learning disability.
