Prompt #14. Write a poem about what you view from a window or what looking out from a window means to you. From a Living Room Window Looking down from a birds eye view A house on each corner of the block Two empty lots on each side of houses One divided by a lilac hedge From a gardener 's toil many years ago The quail have taken up residency Under the shrubs of the lilac hedge All's quiet in the still of the winter Adult quails scampering to and fro For grubs to feed their young When the snow melts to the earth barren spots Other lot with grassy weeds, bolders and such A 45 foot tall blue spruce, walnut and a hazel nut tree Lines the property separating the empty lot From an old abandoned house on the corner Due for demolition in the spring To became one with The other lot all carefully marked for Garden plots, soil turned well defined rows Show little ditches in the snowy outline Can hardly wait for spring A community garden will be born Have to sign up for a garden plot What will I grow? Shrubs of flora of course! Looking down from a birds eye view As the years, pass by no eye sore Will be seen but a gardner's touch! Decora ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only ** |
