Like any POD publisher, you just need to know what you are getting into.

Publish America will publish your book. They will put the title in their catalogue. The book will be available for purchase on-line through all the major on-line booksellers.

YOU would need to submit a MS that is well edited (because they do have a poor reputation for editing). You would have to do all the promoting for your book (but unless you are signed by one of the big houses, you most likely would have to anyway). And the big plus for many authors that choose to go PA is that there is no outlay required by the author.

It's all about being well-informed and understanding what the publisher is really offering. The truth is in their statements. (Like Amazon and Barnes & Noble are their biggest retailers...of course they are!Amazon and B&N sell the most books anywhere. But an eager writer would easily misinterpret the statement to mean that PA is one of Amazon's best selling publishers...)

Many of the disappointed authors at PA didn't research the publisher before going with them and were expecting something more than they got. Some of my friends did publish with PA and are happy with their experience. But they went in with their eyes open.

It's up to you!
