Off the top of my head, I can think of one writer whose writing humbles me, but in this case, it's not about elegance, but sheer storytelling ability. The writing, the story, the characters, just reach out, grab hold, and carry me along for the ride. By the time I reach The End, I'm left out of breath, glad it's over, amazed that I never left the safety and comfort of my own home, and wanting more. It's exhilirating.
Other writers captivate me, too. From them all, I try to learn what I can, take it, and make it my own in order to improve my own writing style and storytelling technique.
