You write because you have to, and that's something I can relate to. I've tried giving up on my writing, telling myself I'll never get anywhere, but I find it doesn't work. It doesn't matter if I'm good or not, or if it will be published (though I sure hope it will be). I, too, have to write. I'm not happy if I'm not writing. I feel too empty.
I am striving for publication. I haven't succeeded yet, but that is my goal. I like having readers, but it means something on a different level to have it accepted by a publisher, and put in print.
