Re: Must a Novel Have Chapters?
by A Non-Existent User
Now I'm not real experienced with this by no means. I'm working on my first novel now. However, my suggestion is this: If it doesn't feel right to have chapters in your book, then don't. If a publisher asks you for the first three chapters, then send the first three sections. If you put dates in to separate the scenes, then send the first few dates. Consider them to be your chapters.

The book "Dolores Claborne" from Stephen King has no chapters whatsoever, it doesn't even have breaks in it!

I hope this helps*Smile*
