Ooh, I hate that stuff! That's so messed up, messing with others' lives, stabbing them in the back. I can't stand people like that.

My advice:

Call them out on it! Get those people together and tell them the truth. Ask them to explain themselves in front of one another. The only way to clear up the mess is to bring it out in the open.

Of course, if I was in the situation, I might not be that bold. I tend to try to ignore problems, hoping they'll go away.

In this situation, though, it seems like the only way to straighten things out.

Maybe you could also try to get someone neutral involved to help settle matters. I'm not sure what will clear it up, but I sympathize with you. It makes me so mad to hear about people doing stuff like that.
