I think when an author changes a chapter in an interactive story something should be automatically generated to indicate the chapter was changed. On the top there could be something like "modified by author"
When I change something written by someone else, I always annotate the chapter that I changed it. Some authors don't. That gives them the the power to put words in another person's mouth.
I want to emphasize that I am not saying the author should not be able to make changes,I am only saying it should be clear that the author changed the chapter.
