Shouldn't reviewing be up there on the list? As someone might have been here a few years, but not that active around the site.

Writing.Com gives reviewing Merit Badges monthly to the top 100 Public Reviewers. Private reviewing, though, gives us no means to verify the activity or quality of the reviews given by a member. Adding weighting to private reviews, unfortunately, provides an invitation to cheat or simply send 'quicker' reviews just to increase the numerical count.

Those receiving private reviews can acknowledge a private reviewer by sending their own Reviewing, Editing or other badge.

Also, we did include recognition for the number of years a member maintains membership here, which they receive even if they're not that active around the site. Members maintaining an ongoing account is an important part of our community.


"Writing.Com for various reasons, such as length of membership, promotions, sitewide activities and more." - What are the "sitewide activities and more" -or has that not been added yet?

When you click on a Community Recognition number, check the "?" for Bonus Recognitions. There aren't any real details provided there yet, but it does say how they'll be announced when they are available.

Also... Clicking on the Bonus Recognitions link found in the Community Recognition Detail will show you the recognition provided for length of membership and account level.
