Monthly Wisconsin Review Contest Welcome to the Monthly Wisconsin Review Contest, a contest for Writing.com members to submit their writing with a grand prize of consideration for publication, as well as various other prizes including gift points and merit badges! First, a little about us: We are The Wisconsin Review; founded in 1966, we are Wisconsin's oldest literary magazine. Our staff is made up of students at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. The Wisconsin Review publishes exemplary short stories and poems and has decided to tap the well of talent here at Writing.com with this contest. At the end of each month, our staff members will read the entries and judge which ones we like best. Each month, at the very least we will choose a first, second, and third prize for both categories. For both fiction and poetry we are mostly open to mainstream literary genres. For a better idea of what we like, feel free to check out our website or grab a copy of our journal. Please limit your submissions to one short story (about 15 pages or less in normal 12 point font and double spacing) or 5 poems. Prizes (Optional at the choosing of staff) Grand Prize: Publication in The Wisconsin Review 1st Prize: A merit badge and 5,000 gps 2nd Prize: 2,500 gps 3rd Prize: 1,000 gps Donations! We are a small operation with a tiny budget, and any donations of gift points to help run the contest would be highly appreciated! Merit badges for Donations of over 30,000 gps!! The first round will start at midnight on October 1st and will run to October 31st, when round two begins. Results for each month will be posted within a few weeks after the end of the round |
