Oh, there's still the Bad/Unlucky Rolls - More than a few have been killedin my group - got a teammate whose guy has been killed twice that I know of - the Revive Spell helps - but my DM has a Homerule where the Cleric has to do a Difficulty Check based on how many times one has died before - and basically, if this teammate dies one more time - he's dead-dead for keeps.

Likewise, for 5e, there's 100+ races, 100+ subclasses (most classes have at least 5 subclasses now), and 3rd-party stuff adds so many more. I'm not going to count the 2024 revision just yet, but it does look compatible with the 2014 stuff.
