When I started this thread, I had my own ideas for doing things, but I hadn't started publishing them. Now I have started—"A Battle Plan Begins" —and I guess I'll comment here on the choices I'm making. It's on-topic for this thread, it will keep the Homepage Blog from getting cluttered up.

First of all, as an author, I am approaching the question differently than how I asked it here, so my authorial choices are not the ones that I would have chosen if I'd chosen to play it smart. And it's interesting to note that the choice I continued—"Secure the loft"—is the only one that didn't get a single vote. So why take this route?

Well, I don't think it's a wrong choice, just not an optimal one. Mostly I picked it because getting control of the loft has been a classic opening move in this interactive, so I replicated it here. Variations can follow later. Then, too, getting control of the loft by duplicating either Gordon or Steve also gives one control of two powerful alpha males. I'm not sure that adding a faculty member adds anything extra.

So if it's a choice between "secure the loft" and "duplicate a teacher" I think it's a judgement call. "Teacher" clearly beats "loft" in terms of being able to capture and replace students; but "loft" brings a dividend that "teacher" doesn't. Does that dividend outweigh the others' advantage? Reasonable people can reasonably disagree.
