Written for the My Word Contest, December 2019.
Free Verse.

I don't feel cheated about this one (after all, judgement is always a matter of taste) but it comes from a time when my poetry was really getting into its stride and I was kinda proud of the deviousness of the poem. There were other entries that took a much more straightforward approach to the picture prompt whereas mine demanded a bit of thought from the reader, starting with the reason for the title. It takes a bit of understanding, too, to see that the second verse is an answer to the first (hence the quotation marks). And then there's the sting in the tail that gives a final clue to what's really going on...

Anyway, you might get a laugh out of it. Makes me grin, even now.
