Round 6
by Pita Author IconMail Icon
(Opps sorry had some at the door so I am a tad late!)

A Pantoum is a Malay poetic forum that seems complex, looks elegant, but is fairly easy to craft. A detailed study of the forum can be found poets.org.

"The modern pantoum is a poem of any length, composed of four-line stanzas in which the second and fourth lines of each stanza serve as the first and third lines of the next stanza. The last line of a pantoum is often the same as the first."(http://www.poets.org/viewmedia.php/prmMID/5786)

A Pantoum is not rhymed (although it can be) the letters aren't for a rhyme scheme it is to demonstrate construction:

Stanza 1: A1 B1 A2 B2
Stanza 2: B1 C1 B2 C2
Stanza 3: C1 D1 C2 D2

Typically the Last Stanza will look like this: X1 A1 X2 A2; however, feel free to just do X1 Z1 X2 Z2 if you'd like.

Your final stanza may follow the normal format or you may include lines from stanza 1.

Your prompts are:
A half-melted snowman
A small square of white
A red or pink silk scarf

Your entry must be at least four stanzas but no more than eight max.{{/c}/b}
You may use any of the above prompts or all of them, its your call!

Round will close NOON WDC tomorrow!
