Faith slammed her door. I couldn’t believe it. After so many years, so many memories made, Mom’s promise was just empty. She lied. She promised. The memory kept replaying in her head. How much else of what Mom said was true? She forced those questions out of her head, and internally slapped herself for thinking about that. She pulled out her phone, and opened it to Mesage her friends. I didn’t care about the fact I was moving 2,000 miles away to New York. I wasn’t a city girl. I wouldn’t stand for it.
